Article Processing Charge (APC) refers to the charge by authors to make their articles open access in some journals.

The Company of Biologists

Corresponding authors can publish Open Access research articles free of charge in subscription journals
– Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology.

The coverage period
The date when the publication decision notification is sent to the author is within the contract period.
The contract period：2021/1/1～2023/12/31

Qualified Person
The corresponding author's institution has a Read & Publish agreement with The Company of Biologists.
Nagoya University Library confirms that you are eligible for free OA publishing under Read & Publish agreement.
When you submit the paper, please use your institutional email address.

The author receives an email including the link to the Open Access charge when the article is accepted.
Please click the blue "Apply Discounts" button and type "Nagoya University" in the "Affiliation discount" field.

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS)

The publisher makes articles open access 6 months after publication. By choosing Open Access option and paying APC, you can make your article open access immediately upon publication.
