Mutual library use for member of Nagoya & Gifu Universities

Nagoya University Library Services (for members of Gifu University)

In April 2020, Nagoya University and Gifu University became member universities of the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System through corporate integration.
Consequently, the Nagoya University Library (Central Library and Medical Library) is available now for students, faculty and staff members of Gifu University under the same conditions as students, faculty and staff members of Nagoya University (except for some services).
In order to use Nagoya University Library, you need a library card issued by Nagoya University Library.

Procedure for issuing a Library Card

• 1. Submit the "Application for issuance of Library card" at the counter on the 2nd floor of the Gifu University Library (Central Library, Medical Library) by 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.

  * Please bring your Gifu University Student / Staff ID Card.

• 2. After a certain period of time from the application date, a library card will be issued at the Nagoya University Library.

  * We will inform you of the date when you can receive the library card at the time of application.

• 3. Receive your Library Card at the counter of Nagoya University Library(Central Library, Medical Library).

  * Please bring your Gifu University Student / Staff ID Card.

● Notice

• ・ Please allow enough time for applying at Gifu University Library because it will take some times to issue a Nagoya University Library Card.
• ・ Please show your Gifu University Student / Staff ID Card when you apply for and receive your Library Card.
• ・ The person who has a Student / Staff ID Card of Nagoya University can not apply.
• ・ If you have a "Central Library Card" of Nagoya University Library, please fill in your Central Library ID when applying.
• ・ Please be sure to take your Nagoya University Library Card when using the Nagoya University Library.
• ・ In case of a change in the details registered at the time of application (undergraduate student, full name, etc.), please apply at the counter of Gifu University Library.
• ・ If you lose your Nagoya University Library Card, please ask the counter at Gifu University Library.

● Returning

Books borrowed at other libraries cannot be returned. Please return it directly to the library you borrowed.

● Reserving

If you want to use a book that is presently 'checked out' on OPAC, you can make a reservation.

Photocopying

There are a coin-operated photocopy machine and card-operated (Co-op copy cards) photocopy machines for private expense.
Only if you apply for in advance, you can receive the receipt at Central Library. Please come to the Reference / Interlibraary Loan Desk before you copy. (Unitil 4:30 p.m.on working days)

Facilities

If the representative is a student, faculty or staff member of Nagoya University, you can use the following faceilities.

• ・ Writing Support Booth
• ・ Projector Area

You can use the following facilities of Central Library.

• ・ Research Rooms
• ・ Work Pod(Not available for reservation)
• ・ Audio-Visual Booths

Workshop / Reference

• ・ You can participate in the guidance and workshop be held at the Central Library and Medical Library.
• ・ You can use the reference servicies at the Reference Desk of Central Library and Medical Library.

Unavailable for use

• ・ You can't use the computers for Nagoya University students.
• ・ You can't use the wirless LAN for Nagoya Univirsity students faculties and staff members. Please check eduroam JP (For Gifu University members).
• ・ You should refrain from visiting Central Library during the exam period.
