In this Guidance, participants will learn how to search news and scholarly content using a long-term perspective. Using articles from The New York Times, we will explore approximately 40 years of AI development, examining how it has evolved from a technology inspired by the human brain into a form of social infrastructure with environmental implications.

Participants will also learn how to use ProQuest’s search functions effectively, focusing on how terminology changes over time and how to continuously trace a research topic across different periods.
